our story is this: orchestra education for students in the illinois valley
The Illinois Valley Youth Symphony provides students with a valuable and unique musical experience through weekly rehearsals and regular performances, while furthering the cultural enrichment of the Illinois Valley community.
The organization offers full orchestra and chamber orchestra opportunities for elementary through high school and adult students. The organization has promoted individual student performers as well through offering competitive events for soloists and student conductors for members. Winners of these competitions perform with the group each spring.
IVYSO welcomes students from all instrument areas including strings, brass, winds, and percussion. Interested musicians may audition for placement at any point during the orchestra season, however, our formal auditions are held each August. Click here to learn more about joining us!
