We recommend getting students involved in music however possible, in particular in private lessons. Local teachers offer quality strings education that is crucial to a holistic musical education.

Check out the area's offerings for learning string instruments! These are the violin teachers, viola teachers, cello teachers, and bass teachers who have openings for students in the Peru, La Salle, and Ottawa areas.

Note that due to the increase in difficulty of music and intense work needed on orchestra music outside of rehearsal, participation in IVYSO's Sinfonia orchestra requires participation in live, in-person private lessons (or good-faith efforts to secure a private teacher if one is not available) as terms of enrollment.
